Hazrat Abdul Karim Chishti Baba Huzoor, lovingly known as Sarkar Baba Huzoor (Hazrat Baba Sahab’s Hazrat Ausaaf Baba Huzoor), devoted his entire life to Khidmat (sacred service). Choosing service as his life’s mission, he dedicated himself with love, humility, and respect, becoming one of Sarkar’s most trusted and cherished servants.
Continuation of Sacred Service
Even after Sarkar’s passing, the Khidmat of the Mazaar Sharif (holy shrine) was continued with the same devotion and reverence, ensuring that the legacy of service remained alive for generations.
Daily Rituals at Mazaar Sharif
Each day, about half an hour before the Fajr (dawn) prayer, the Darwaza (door) of the shrine is opened.
The Chadar Sharif is reverently lifted and replaced with a fresh Chadar.
Incense is lit, and with these sacred rituals, the daily service begins.
Reconstruction of the Mosque
In the courtyard Arkan of the Auliya Allah Mazaar Sharif, there once stood a small stone mosque on the left-hand side. In 1992, Baba Sahab reconstructed this mosque, preserving its sanctity and providing a space for continued worship.
Service After the Mazaar
After the rituals at Sarkar Baba Huzoor’s Mazaar Sharif are completed, the mosque door is opened. Prayers are offered inside, after which the cycle of Khidmat continues, keeping the shrine alive with devotion and remembrance.
In the morning, the Azaan and Namaz are performed. After that, prayers are offered, and the tabarruk (blessed offering) is distributed among all the devotees who come.
In the year 1992, after the construction of the mosque, Baba Sahab expressed his wish to perform Hajj. However, this matter kept being postponed. Whenever Baba Sahab used to go for the sacred pilgrimage, the question always arose — who would then perform the Khidmat (service) at the Dargah Sharif, lead the Namaz in the mosque, and carry out the morning Azaan and daily prayers?
At that time, Sarkar Baba Sahab appointed his son, Shakir Jamal Chishti Sahab, to carry out the Khidmat of Dargah Sharif, lead the Namaz, and continue the Khilafat responsibilities. Along with this, Baba Sahab also appointed another Khadim, Janab Abdul Wahab Khan Chishti.
When Baba Sahab was present, he personally supervised the Khidmat and valued its importance deeply. After him, his son continued the legacy, ensuring the service remained unbroken.
In the year 2004, Baba Sahab once again expressed his wish to perform the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj. This time, he was accompanied by his sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and the entire family, making it a blessed family journey to the holy land.
During this period, when the responsibility of service at the Dargah needed to be carried out, it was entrusted to Qazi Raziuddin, a devoted disciple and close follower of Baba Sahab. He was honored with the responsibility of leading the Khidmat (sacred service) as well as performing the Khilafat Namaz.
The Dargah Sharif remains open throughout the day, allowing devotees to come, offer their respects, and receive blessings. The constant flow of visitors fills the shrine with devotion and reverence from morning till evening.
In the evening, before the Asar prayer, a special Khidmat is performed. The flowers offered by devotees during the day are carefully removed, the shrine is respectfully cleaned, and fresh flowers are placed across the Dargah Sharif. This ritual of refreshing the offerings symbolizes purity, devotion, and the continuation of sacred service.
In the evening, until the time of Maghrib prayers, devotees are allowed to visit the shrine, while only the Khadim (caretaker) is permitted to enter inside for service. About twelve minutes before the Maghrib prayer, the Chiragah (lamp-lighting ceremony) is performed, a unique and sacred tradition of the Chishti order. During this ritual, a special prayer is recited: “Ilahi ta buwad khurshid o mahi chirag-e-Chishtiya ra roshnai”, which means, “O Lord, as long as this world exists and as long as the moon and stars continue to shine, let the light of these lamps of the Chishti order keep glowing forever.” After the completion of this ritual, the Maghrib prayer is performed, continuing the cycle of devotion and Khidmat.
